This is an opportunity to immerse yourself into photography and the making of images with minimal distractions. We will be concentrating on landscape (beachscape) and wildflower photography. We designed this workshop to maximize the time you are out in the field shooting. Hands on, in the field instruction and guidance is a great way to quickly improve upon the images you make. All instruction will be personalized to the needs of each student. We can assist you with composition, technical questions, use of filters, how to get the sharpest image possible, and as well as the range of decisions you need to make to create a photograph that reflects your own artistic vision. Plenty of time during the afternoons will be provided for critique of the images that you make during the weekend. The working schedule for the weekend is:

Hotels:
We do not have a block of rooms set aside anywhere. However, we are still in the "preseason", so availability shouldn't be an issue. There are quite a few hotels/motels in Bethany Beach and I don't think one is any better than another. Here is some information on two in particular.
On the boardwalk, near where we will meet for sunrise on Sunday. Rooms range from $70-$110 depending on size and view.
• Holiday Inn ExpressShort walk to the beach and our meeting place on the boardwalk. Rooms range $105-$125.
Miscellaneous Stuff
The weather in Bethany Beach will generally be a bit cooler than around here. I would expect in the 40-50s at night and (hopefully) as high as the 70s during the day. So, bring warm clothes (jeans, jacket) for the morning and evenings and shorts/tee-shirt for the days. Also, be prepared for inclimate weather. We will try to shoot in whatever weather is presented (within reason). Some of the best shots can be made when it is overcast, misting, or just after the rain. Plan to bring some plastic bags for your gear as well.
Please plan to bring the following items:
- Camera Gear
- Camera
- Lenses – wide to telephoto
- Filters – graduated neutral density, polarizer, etc.
- Tripod
- Cable release
- Spare batteries and battery chargers
- Plastic to set your bag and gear on
- Ground cloth for laying on ground to shoot wildflowers
- Plenty of memory cards
- Long-term storage device and/or laptop
